Neuromas
Neuromas are found between the toes of the foot, generally between the 3rd and 4th toes.
It is the result of an entrapped nerve that is constantly irritated by the surrounding bony structures, causing inflammation.
What are the symptoms of Neuromas?
A dull burning sensation
A stinging sensation
Pain under the ball of the foot
How is a neuroma treated?
When treating neuromas, an initial conservative approach is best. Most neuromas, under a certain size, will respond well to orthotic therapy, foot mobilization and dry needling. However, if a neuroma is quite large, surgery may be the only solution.
