BIRDWOOD PODIATRY

Personalised Footcare in the Blue Mountains

Welcome to Birdwood Podiatry

Established in 2022, Birdwood Podiatry has quickly built a positive reputation in the Blue Mountains through our commitment to personalised treatment. We’re focused on your health and comfort, first and foremost. We offer therapies based on thorough assessment, evaluating not only your symptoms but addressing their cause, leading to more successful treatment outcomes.

Booking in with either of our podiatrists, you’ll be able to stay under their care for the long term. Meaning, consistent care with the same professional that you have built a relationship with and who knows and understands your treatment needs.

Owned by a Springwood local, Podiatrist Phillip Smith has been practicing in the Blue Mountains since 2010. Edward Paluzzano, also an experienced podiatrist, is well known to the Mountains, having practiced since 2017 in Blaxland, Springwood and Katoomba. Our Podiatrists are skilled in providing care and treatment to everyone - from children to adolescents and adults

Why the name Birdwood Podiatry?

Birdwood Podiatry takes its name from the gully on the North side of Springwood, located on Dharug country.

A popular bush walk that captures much of the reason so many of us choose to call the mountains our home. Birdwood Gully is lined with ferns and spectacular glow worm displays at night; Birdwood also happens to be the favourite walk of both of Phil's children.

When contemplating a name for the practice, it felt like a perfect fit. Combining steadfastness and familiarity amongst our community with a connection to Phil’s home & family. It proved the perfect namesake for the clinic.

We acknowledge the Dharug and Gundungurra people as the Traditional Owners of the lands we call the Blue Mountains that we live and work on. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and we express our gratitude for their continued care of Country.

Dharug artist Shay Jannowi-Jude Tobin recently completed a mural at the Springwood Community Hub that reflects the course of Springwood Creek that runs through Birdwood Gully.
